This luminous oil on canvas is a seminal work by Mübin Orhon (1924–1981), created during his most influential years in Paris. The painting is a masterclass in the Lyrical Abstraction movement, featuring a swirling, ethereal vortex of cerulean, azure, and pale lavender tones. Orhon’s technique here is profoundly atmospheric; the rhythmic, circular brushstrokes create a sense of infinite depth and movement, as if the viewer is gazing into a cosmic or oceanic expanse.
