This luminous work is a quintessential example of Le Pho’s mature “Findlay Period.” Following his move to France and his collaboration with the Wally Findlay Galleries, his style transitioned from delicate silk painting to a vibrant, impressionistic use of oils. The composition depicts two elegant figures in traditional áo dài seated amidst a sprawling, sun-drenched field of white daisies.

The painting is characterized by its soft, ethereal light and a palette dominated by warm yellows, lush greens, and the bright white of the flowers. Le Pho’s brushwork here is fluid and joyful, blending the refined aesthetics of Chinese and Vietnamese art with the light-filled techniques of French Post-Impressionism. The scene conveys a sense of timeless serenity and the delicate beauty of nature.
