Aurora & Athena does not provide in-house packing, shipping, or logistics services.

Buyers are free to arrange packing, transportation, insurance, customs clearance, and any related services directly with independent third-party logistics providers, at their own cost and responsibility.

For convenience and informational purposes only, below is a non-exhaustive list of independent shipping companies operating in Spain that buyers may choose to contact.

• Insurance & Export Documentation

  Aurora & Athena does not provide insurance and does not arrange or assist with export licenses or any related documentation.

  Insurance coverage, export licenses, taxes, customs clearance, and all related formalities must be arranged exclusively by the buyer directly with the chosen logistics provider.

  Aurora & Athena assumes no responsibility for loss, damage, delays, licensing requirements, or tax obligations related to transportation or export.

• Export Tax — General Information (Outside the EU)

  The following information is provided for reference only.
  All questions regarding applicability, procedures, timing, and costs must be addressed directly to the shipping company.

  For shipments from Spain to non-EU countries, export tax may apply to the following categories, subject to the artwork’s age and declared value:

  1. Paintings
     More than 50 years old and valued over €150,000
  2. Watercolours, Gouaches and Pastels
     More than 50 years old and valued over €30,000
  3. Drawings and Graphic Works (including prints, engravings, lithographs)
     More than 50 years old and valued over €15,000
  4. All artworks over 100 years old
     Export tax may apply regardless of category, subject to applicable regulations.

  * No export tax applies to shipments within the EU.

• Spanish Export Tax (Indicative)

  If applicable, export tax is calculated progressively based on the declared value:

  1. Up to €6,000 — 5%
  2. €6,001 to €60,000 — 10%
  3. €60,001 to €600,000 — 20%
  4. Above €600,000 — 30%

  Tax assessment, payment, and filing are handled entirely by the shipping provider or customs agent engaged by the buyer.

• Practical Note (Works Subject to Export License Requirements)

  In practice, due to potentially high taxes and administrative requirements associated with export licenses, some buyers may choose to collect artworks in person or to arrange transport to another EU country before any onward shipment outside the EU.

  Such decisions are made solely by the buyer and must fully comply with applicable laws and regulations.

  Aurora & Athena does not provide advice on export structuring or cross-border transport and does not participate in these arrangements.
